How to bury HDPE pipes underground
One of the advantages of HDPE pipe is acid corrosion, and therefore some one think there is no need underground corrosion. But the drawback of HDPE pipe is the lack of strength and oxidation resistance. Since HDPE pipe has lower strength than metal and more sensitive to temperature changes, so be sure to pay attention embedded depth, away from the heat pipes, try to avoid other pipelines and power lines in the same ditch. Under special circumstances should be according to standard specification, down, left and right to maintain a certain distance and to take special measures.
After the HDPE pipe laid under the ditch, immediately cover the pipeline with fine soil or sand with a thickness of not less than 30cm, to ensure that HDPE pipe away from external damage. On the top and both sides of HDPE pipe, there should be 50cm backfill shall not contain gravel, bricks, trash and other debris. Do not backfill with permafrost. From the top 50cm above the pipe, backfill allowing a small amount of not more than 10cm in diameter, the stones and permafrost of filling shall not exceed 15% of the total volume. Backfill should be layered compacted thickness, each layer should be 20-30cm. Both sides of the pipe and within the top 50cm should be compacted backfill. When the backfill exceed 50cm top of the pipe, small mechanical can be used for compaction, each layer should be 25-40cm.
