High Density Polyethylene Slurry Technology

High density polyethylene is widely used because of its excellent overall performance, rich source of raw materials, low cost. HDPE started its market since 1970s with the density of 0.94 ~ 0.97g/ cm3. At present, HDPE is the third largest category of polyolefins in the world as for production capacity and demand. 

Slurry Technology is the first technology to produce HDPE pipe which is relatively mature. It require low reaction pressure and is easy to control. Typical Slurry Technology includes Italian Montedison technology, the US Hercules technology, Mitsui Toatsu Chemical technology, the United States Amoco technology. These technologies are based on the development of the first generation catalyst. In recent years, the method had been improved for the production of the second generation highly active catalyst. It can reduce the generation of random polymers without deashing process. It can be used to produce homopolymers, random copolymer and impact copolymer products.
